Faculty PositionsFaculty Position In Climate Change Scripps Institution Of Oceanography University Of California The Scripps Institution of Oceanography http://sio.ucsd.edu at the University of California in San Diego invites applications to fill one or more positions at the Assistant, Associate (tenured) or Full Professor (tenured) levels in fields related to the physical, chemical or biological basis of natural and anthropogenic climate change. We seek an interdisciplinary scientist and educator to establish a vigorous research program and to provide intellectual leadership in climate related issues to the broader Scripps community of scientists. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate level courses, both in the general area of climate sciences as well as in specialized areas of research, and will be encouraged to participate in undergraduate teaching at UC San Diego. The position requires a PhD degree and a competitive record of publication consistent with opportunity, as well as evidence of the ability to conduct and fund an active research program and, for more senior candidates, of the ability to mentor graduate students and junior colleagues. Faculty Position in Marine Ecology/Conservation Biology The Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in vites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) in the broadly defined area of marine ecology and conservation biology. We are particularly interested in applicants able to cross disciplinary boundaries and work with a diverse array of colleagues including physical and social scientists. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent and postdoctoral experience is preferred. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct and fund an active research program, advise graduate students, and teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Applicants are expected to show evidence of their potential by a publication record appropriate for their experience. The salary will depend on the experience of the successful applicant and will be based on the University of California pay scale.
